Snatcher and SD Snatcher

Snatcher and Super Deform Snatcher are two cyberpunk video games created by Hideo Kojima (the creator of the Metal Gear serie) and published by Konami on MSX systems. Snatch is before all a futuristic and Cyber Punk video game which has probably one of the best intro scene of all times and which is played mainly like a Science fiction film with many dialogues, including dialogues where you have to choose the answers and some shooting scenes. As for SD Snatcher, it features the same story but is more action oriented with Super Deformed characters

Aleste 2

Aleste 1 (1988) and Aleste 2 (1989) are scrolling shooter video games published on MSX and MSX2 in 1988 and 1989 where the player has to fly over various level and defeat enemies. And at the end of some levels, they are bosses to beat. Aleste 2 is a truly excellent game and is still very fun to play as of today.

Vampire Killer (Akumajo Dracula)

Vampire Killer or Akumajo Dracula (Dracula's castle) has been released by Konami on MSX systems in 1986 and after that, the game was ported on Amiga systems and Dos systems. The MSX version of this first game of the Castlevenia serie is better than the Nes and PC version. Especially the colors and also in this MSX version, to access the next level, it is necessary to find a white key which is hidden in each level. This game is really excellent and still very fun to play today and the soundtrack is very good.

Antartic Adventure and Penguin Adventure

Antartic Adventure (1984) and Penguin Adventure are two MSX video games published by Konami where the player controls a penguin. If Antartic Adventure is a simple racing game on the ice, Penguin Adventure is an authentic Adventure game where the hero, Pentarou must make his way through many levels to find a sacred fruit which can save the princess of the Penguins. During his trip, he will find many objects to help him in his quest and will have to confront various monster as well as evil dinosaurs who are the guardians of some levels.
A truly fantastic game.

F1 Spirit : The Way To Formula-1

F1 Spirit The Way of Formula-1 is a racing game publishd by Konami on MSX systems where the player controls various car types (F1, rally, F300 cars, ...) in order to win the World Championships. Also, a remade version of this popular MSX game exists. The remade version of the game was published in 2017 and can be played on Windows, Mac and Linux without the use of emulators. The remake is way more beautiful than the original version of the game. And it is also harder, especially when you start to drive F1 cars because Braingames (the team who created this great remake of F1 Spirit) made it a racing simulation.

Puyo Puyo

Puyo Puyo or Puyo Pop is a game similar to Tetris published in 1991 on msx systems but with very funny balls insted of the Tetris cubes. It is one of the best Tetris-like games ever.

Airball is a puzzle game developped by Microdeal in 1987 on Atari, Amiga, Dos systems and then on Game Boy Advance.
In Airball, the player controls a character changed into an airball who has to escape a castle full of pics. The game is very difficult but is absolutly excellent.

Fire Hawk : Thexder The Second Contact

In Thexder 1 and Firehawk: Thexeder 2 the Second Contact, the player control a robot which is capable of transforming into a plane to reach difficult places impossible to reach with jumps. There are many opponents to beat through the levels.Firehawk is still a very pleasant game to play.

Treasure of USAS

Treasure of USAS is a classic action and adventure game published in 1989 by Konami on MSX systems. The player controls 2 characters, each one as a time, who has to explore ruins to find a treasure. What makes this game so much original is that if one of the two characters gets caugh, his friend will at his turn enter the ruin to try to find his buddy and save him and if he reaches the place where the boss of the level stands, his friend will be seen tied to a rope and he will be able to free him if he defeats the boss.
