The best Survival Horror games for PC.

The video games labelled "Survival Horror" are games where the player incarnates a character who has to fight or escape zombies or others monsters in a scary environement, with often limited resources.

	Resident Evil 1, Resident Evil 2 The games Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 2 are not only excellent Survival Horror games but also classic games. Theses two episodes are the most famous in the serie, with the exception of Resident Evil 4, which is a good game but too much simulation oriented. Same for the others episodes of the series which suffer from the same problem and are also less good than Resident Evil 4.
	Silent Hill 1 and Silent Hill 2 The game Silent Hill 1, adapted on pc by modders from the Playstation version and Silent Hill 2 are famous Survival horror games as well as Classic games. The others episodes of the Silent Hill serie aren't as good and are too much action oriented, which reduce the impact on the Survival atmosphere.
	Alone in the Dark 1 and Alone in the Dark 2 Alone in the Dark is another cult classic Survival Horror serie and the games Alone in the Dark 1 and Alone in the Dark 2 are amongs the precursor of the Survival horror genre.
	Penumbra Episode One : Ouverture and Penumbra Episode Two : Black Plague Penumbra Episode one : Ouverture and Penumbra Episode Two : Black Plague are two good Survival Horror.
	Dead Space Dead Space is an excellent Survival Horror and Space Opera videogame published by EA. like Doom, it takes place in Space. The first episode takes place in an enormous and spaceship where the crew has mysteriously disappeared. An anime "Dead Space Downfall" has be derived from Dead Space 1 to explain what has happened before the game takes place.
	Call of Cthulhu : Dark Corners of the Hearth Call of Cthulhu is a very good Survival Horror which has a great atmosphere and a good story.
	Phantasmagoria 1 et Phantasmagoria 2 Phantasmagoria is very good serie of Survival horror and Point & clicks Adventure games. The scenario has been imagined by Julia Roberts and it is has dark as it is excellent. Both Phantasmagoria 1 and 2 are classic games (Even if the 2nd episode is less known than Phantasmagoria 1 which is a very famous game).
	F.E.A.R The Horrific FPS F.E.A.R. is a classic pc game because of its very good atmosphere and its interesting scenario. The next episodes, if they are decent, aren't as good as FEAR 1.
	THe Doom Trilogy Doom, Doom 2 and Doom 3 are cult pc games and the first 2 episodes are amongs the precursors of the Survivar Horror Game genre (Doom 1 has been published in 1993).
	System Shock 1 and System Shock 2 System Shock 1 and System Shock 2 are classic video games and famous FPS, Adventure and Survival Horror games which have a great cyberpunk and space opera atmosphere as well as an amazing story plot. In top of that, System Shock 2 integrates a little bit of Roleplay by giving Xp points to the players so he makes the characters he controls evolve throughout the game.
	Aliens Versus Predator Aliens VS Predator is a FPS / Survival Horror cult classic games serie. The first episode of the serie, Aliens VS Predator 1 was published in 1999 and the second episode Aliens VS Predator 2 introduced the possible for the player to control an Alien, a Predator or a Marine in 3 different campaigns (One for each characters' type).
	Still Life Still Life is an Adventure and Survival Horror game where the player has to chase a Serial Killer in 2 different eras.
	In Memoriam In Memoriam is a games serie where the player has to retrieve the path of a serial. The 3 games In Memoriam 1, In Memoriam : The 13rd victim and In Memoriam : The Last Ritual are classic PC games.
	Jurassic Park 1 and Jurassic Park : Operation Genesis Jurassic Park 1 published by Ocean Software is a very good survival horror game published in 1993 on pc, Super Nintendo, Sega Megadrive, Amiga, Game Boy ... and derived from the success film of the same name. As for Jurassic Park : Operation Genesis, it allows the player to build a park for Dinosaurs, take care of them, make sure they don't escape, catch them if they do and attracts tourists, do missions, .... Operation Genesis is a very particular game and one of the best dinosaurs game existing.
	Amnesia : The Dark Descent Amnesia : The Dark Descent is q Survival Horror published in 2010 on pc and where the action takes place in an haunted castle. The graphics are decent and the soundtrack is excellent. One of the originality of this game is the Terror / Fear gauge which increases if the character controlled by the player stays too much in the shadows or if a creature is near the player. If the gauge is totally full, the character controlled by the player loose his mind and the party is lost.
	Outlast In the Survival Horror Outlast published 2013, the player controls the journalist Miles Upshur who is investigating on alleged criminal experiences on the pensionners of an asylum. In Outlats, the player can't fight, just flee or hide himself when he makes a dangerous encounter.
	Cry of Fear Cry of Fear is a free and excellent survival Horror which features some elements taken from Silent Hill and Resident Evil. Cry of Fear's story is based around Simon, who, after having an accident, wakes up in a city which appears totally empty ...
